Innovators Forum is an initiative of INOTEK Foundation as part of its efforts to support the development of the ecosystem conducive to the development and commercialization of applicable technology for BOP markets in Indonesia. In this regard Innovators Forum serves as a platform for all stakeholders to discuss ideas and share experiences in developing and commercializing applicable technology for BOP markets.

8th Innovators Forum was held at Hotel Grand Aston Yogyakarta with the main theme “Appropriate Technology for Industry and Entrepreneurship Acceleration”. The event was fully supported by The Lemelson Foundation and in collaboration with the MITI–Student Chapter Yogyakarta.

According to INOTEK’s Executive Director Diyanto Imam the event was designed to serve as a platform that can be utilized by all stakeholders to hold discussions, exchange ideas and experiences as well as developing business networks in supporting the development of technologically innovative small and growing businesses (SGBs) that serve Bottom-of-Pyramid (BOP) markets.

At this two-day event, INOTEK developed a set of agendas that brought together an array of national and local thought leaders and practitioners to discuss the untapped commercial and development opportunities in technology-based enterprises that serve BOP markets. Participants of the event also had the opportunity to see some of Indonesia’s most promising technology-based enterprises that serve BOP markets.
