Sampoerna Retail Community Development Program

Increasing people’s economy through empowering the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) sector is one of the pillars of economic growth in Indonesia. Program from PT. HM Sampoerna Tbk, called the Sampoerna Retail Community (SRC), has successfully developed 57 retailers in 2008 to become 60,000 retailers in 2018 throughout Indonesia. For information, the SRC is a Sampoerna empowerment program for traditional retailers through store structuring education, marketing strategies, and financial management.

In order to support and strengthen the regional economy, PT. HM Sampoerna Tbk. under the umbrella of the “Sampoerna for Indonesia” corporate social responsibility program in collaboration with the Inotek Foundation launched the Sampoerna Retail Community (SRC) Development Program which aims to realize quality and independent MSMEs. The program was launched in October 2018 and will be held for 6 months through 3 series of activities namely outreach, training, and business coaching to 600 SRC members in the regions of South Sumatra, Aceh and North Sumatra. A total of 600 SMEs will increase their business capacity and be accompanied to have competitiveness.

Cooperation and synergy with the government and local stakeholders will be further enhanced to provide a positive impact on the sustainability of the program. Through this program, it is expected that SMEs can develop and improve innovation to be competitive.
